In the last month the Morris Federation Blog has had one genuine registration and eight spam registrations.

The spam registrations (14 so far altogether) seem to be all generated by the same person or robot and although I have blocked his/her/its IP addresses new ones keep appearing.

I have therefore been forced to put registration under moderation for the time being, i.e. I will have to approve each one.

I apologise for any consequent delay or inconvenience.

The Morris Federation Blog has added a feature to link new posts to the Morris Federation Facebook page.
This should happen automatically for all new posts to the blog.
If anyone wants this feature removed for all their blog posts, this can be done by the blog admin on a user-by-user basis.
It can also be disabled by the user on a post-by-post basis.
The blog gives users a more permanent and feature-rich environment, whereas the Facebook page gives a wider audience and ease of use for readers.
Hopefully this addition will allow us to combine the best of both.

Thanks to all the teams who came along to the Fleece at Bretforton for the AGM day of dance on Saturday 24th September. A well-attended and lively AGM in the afternoon completed a splendid day, organised very efficiently by Pebworth Morris and Belle d’Vain. Thanks also to Nigel at the Fleece for his amazing hospitality! See you all next year on 29th September in Otley.

Hohner Pokerwork G/D melodeon for sale.

“The melodeon is in mint condition, it really hasn’t been used, it has a case and dvd and music book signed by Mally. Bought in 2004 on a whim. Price £350.” (The seller’s words in an email to me).
I have not seen it, but was approached when working at the Wiltshire Music Centre about where to advertise it for sale.
Please contact the seller direct if you are interested – Wendy zakandwendy1@hotmail.co.ukand mention that the information came via me, just in case she wonders how you got the address.

I have been trying to contact the Illustrious Order of Fools and Beasts but their email address triggertrotter1@aol.com doesn’t appear to work any more and there webmaster email is also returning my emails via Mailer Daemon (Demon) at AOL.

Does anyone has the correct contact details for them? I have already tried to Google it but with duck ‘a l’orange results!

Heckety will be playing for a ceilidh in Sheffield Cathedral on Saturday 14th May starting at 7:30 (doors 6:30), caller Barry Goodman.

This unique opportunity to dance to a great band in the magnificent surroundings of the cathedral comes as a result of the Joint Morris Organisations’ “Morris Spectacular” being held in Sheffield on May 14th, and the cathedral providing a venue during the day and evening. There will be a real ale bar (yes! In the cathedral!) including local Sheffield beers; tickets are just £10 and include a hot sandwich in the price (available from http://www.sheffieldcathedral.org/events/what-on.php).
