I am just inquiring whether the rumours are true that there could be a Morris Federation gathering in the fair village of Christow, Devon next year. Would it be inappropriate to ask if this is true or not. Are there other villages/sites in the running? If so could I vote for Christow!!

No knowledge of a Federation organised event but quite possible one of the Devon based Federation sides is planning to visit Christow with guests. See http://www.devonfolk.co.uk for links to all the local sides.

The event you are referring to is Great Western Morris’s 40th anniversary weekend, which is to be based at Christow on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of July 2010. We have invited all the teams/groups that have attended our whit tours and to date about 24 teams have said they are coming. So it is likely to be quite a large gathering already. It is therefore NOT open to any team. We are also inviting all our past members. So if you are an old (as in not actively participating not necessarily aged and decrepit) and you have not received correspondence from me, please get in contact as we would like to here from you even if you do not intend coming to our celebration. There will be several tours around Devon on the Saturday and all the team will be in Exeter for the Sunday if you want to come as a spectator. The details will probably be posted on the Great Western Morris nearer the date.
