Having picked up  very recently two new dancers, we have the problem of kitting them out with clogs before the end of April. We all know how long it can take to make these things and that they are expensive , in this financial climate we cannot assume everyone can afford them.  We are suggesting the setting up of a National database for unwanted clogs. I certainly want my clogs to go on dancing long after my knees have given out rather than consign them to the loft to slowly rot away. I am sure there are others around the country that feel the same??

If it took off this could be extended to other kit hardware such as rapper swords garlands, bobbins etc the list is endless

How do you all feel about this??

cheers

Anyone who has such items can post a message in our Classified Advertisements section.
If you set the category of the post as “For Sale” or “Free to a good home” then it can easily be found using the classifieds search.
Similarly, if you are looking for items, set the category to “Wanted”.

That’s a very good idea, Dave – passing stuff around when it’s served its useful purpose! I’ll look into the possibilities at the next Joint Morris Organisations meeting.

Although I have to say this is a very good idea, sadly in the current climate the unwanted stuff usually always ends up for sale.

I have just paid dearly for a second hand pair of Alstons Lancashire Dance Clogs because the owner couldn’t bare to part with them for free, not even with the knowledge that they would be going to a very good home?

The new idiom for ‘To Pop One’s Clogs’…should not be ‘to die’ or (if in Lancashire) ‘to send them into the local pawnbrokers for some quick cash’ …. but …. to put them into an eBay auction for the best possible price!
